Aesthetics are a primary concern for patients seeking discreet options that do not compromise effectiveness. Lingual orthodontics presents a viable alternative, providing invisibility and robust mechanical control akin to traditional braces. This paper examines the evolution and application of lingual brackets, focusing on multi-slot and single-slot designs available in the domestic market. Multi-slot brackets, inspired by the Fujita, offer precise tooth movement through various slots but are bulkier and more complex to manage. Single-slot brackets, designed for simplicity and reduced profile, improve patient comfort and adaptation but may offer less directional control. Notably, self-ligating options in single-slot brackets reduce chair time and enhance user familiarity. The review highlights the importance of customizing bracket selection based on individual treatment needs, suggesting a mix-and-match approach of multi-slot for anterior and single-slot for posterior teeth to optimize control and efficiency. This exploration aims to guide orthodontists in aligning treatment strategies with patient expectations for aesthetic and functional outcomes.

Key words: Lingual bracket, Single-slot, Multi-slot, Lingual setup
