Lingual orthodontic treatment, which renders the appliances invisible during therapy, requires distinct considerations compared with conventional methods. The key among these is the reliance on indirect bonding, thereby necessitating precise communication with dental laboratories for an effective setup model. This model compensates for the torque loss in the anterior teeth owing to extraction space closure, which is more pronounced than conventional labial treatments. Additional lingual root torque was applied, with the degree of overcorrection varying based on clinical experience and mechanical techniques. The treatment sequence in lingual orthodontics differs, incorporating a torque establishment stage postleveling before retraction and finishing. This requires careful planning to mitigate excessive lingual tipping, which is influenced by the surrounding oral muscles. Recent studies reported reduced lingual tipping in extraction cases, which was attributed to advancements in bracket manufacturing technology, particularly in the slot and laboratory processes. Such developments suggest that orthodontists must adjust overcorrection strategies in setup models to reflect the evolving clinical data. B

y integrating the updated insights, efficient treatment outcomes can be achieved, highlighting the importance of adapting techniques in lingual orthodontics. This approach ensures that orthodontists remain responsive to technological advancements and clinical experiences, thereby enhancing treatment efficacy and patient satisfaction.
